Even losing 5% of your body weight improves cardiac health

Many people struggle to lose weight. The Western diet is rich in fat and sugar and we grew up with those habits.

In 2020, an injecttable drug was licensed in the UK to aid weight loss. The drug acts as an appetite suppressant and helps to kick start healthy weight loss and lifestyle changes. It is licensed for patients with a BMI over 30 or those with a BMI of over 27 and a co-morbidity such as high blood pressure or heart disease.

A thorough medical check up is given at consultation to assess suitability for the programme. Consults are free but the programme itself doesn’t come cheap! I have a Post Grad diploma in Diabetes Management and Nutrition so I can help with lifestyle changes and coach you through your journey.

Treatment Regime

This is a self injectable medication which requires to be injected into the thigh or abdomen every day. The dose is slowly tapered upwards to the mainenance dose. Most common side effect is nausea after a dose change. Lifestyle changes MUST be gradually implemented alongside this.

This is not a quick fix. It's a supportive prescription regime to help patients be able to make lifestyle changes slowly while retaining motivation with results.
