Deep Line Filler Treatment

Treatment Focus

Replump and Restore

Often deep lines on the face can be treated with dermal filler to soften their appearance. The areas frequently treated are: Nasolabial folds (nose to mouth lines), marionette lines (corners of the mouth starting to turn down), ’11’ lines between the brows, the forehead, deep set lines at the crows feet, the crease under the bottom lip and barcode or ‘smokers’ lines around the lips.

For nasolabial and marionette lines, treating the midface or the little hollow beside the nose often improves these. A better result is achieved by treating the cheeks and then the deep lines themselves. For the forehead, crows feet and ’11’ lines, I will ALWAYS advise toxin first as these areas carry a higher risk of vascular injury. For lines in these areas, a very soft filler should always be used. I use both needle and cannula depending on the area treated.

Line filler takes around 2 weeks to fully settle although the results are immediate. They last for up to 12 months.

Anatomical considerations

Different products for different depths

There are various different products tailored to treating static facial lines which are unresponsive to toxin. It is important that the correct product is used for a seamless look.

Fillers should be a back up plan to toxin. I always start with toxin when treating facial lines to minimise risk of complications.
