No alcohol or ibuprofen/aspirin for 24 hours as this increases bruising risk.
Smoking or drinking coffee directly before an appointment raises heart rate/BP and increases risk of bruising.
Please attend without make-up or fake tan where you will be injected. It’s a dangerous infection risk, especially with filler. If you are coming from work, please take make up remover with you on the day and remove make-up BEFORE attending the clinic.
If you arrive wearing Double Wear or Long Wear foundation, I will reschedule your appoinment.
If you have/get an appointment for Covid vaccination, please get in touch. Guidelines advise not to administer dermal filler two weeks before and three weeks after vaccination.
Please ensure you buy Zovirax if you suffer from coldsores as you will need to use this after injection to prevent a breakout.
Make sure you have antihistamines in the house if you are are predisposed to swelling.
Taking Arnica tablets for 5 days before and 5 days after injection can help minimise bruising. If you are on blood thinners such as Warfarin and Clopidogrel, please stop this medication for 5 days before injection if you are stable and IF IT IS SAFE TO DO SO.
Do not attend for lip filler if you have a cold or viral illness. This will impact your immune response and may adversely affect healing.
If you have a lot of filler already in situ from other injectors, I may require it to be dissolved before injecting especially in cases of migration outwith the lip border.
Do not book lashes, brows, hair appointment, facial, lying down massage or chiropractor directly after your clinic appointment. The area should be untouched to allow the toxin to settle in the intended muscles and reduce risk of spread to the adjacent muscles.
Botox takes two weeks to take full effect so it is not wise to book a holiday until after this time to allow any adjustments or tweaks to be made.
Taking Zinc supplements will help the toxin take effect.
There is a study that shows that Covid vaccine can negatively affect longevity of toxin so try to avoid having a covid vaccine while your toxin is in the settling period.
Stop using products containing salicylic acid, glycolic acid, lactic acid or Retinol/Vitamin A at least 5 days before your appointment.
Stop using exfoliating cleansers or polishes at least 3-4 days before your peel.
If you have rosacea that is easily inflamed, medical grade peels will likely be too strong for you.
If you have any facial wounds or inflamed acne, please reschedule once fully healed.
